General Care Instructions
1. Upon Arrival
-
Unbox promptly: Open the package as soon as your plants arrive. Let the plants get used to the bright indirect light outside of the box.
-
Avoid direct sunlight; Do NOT water for the first 1-2 weeks: Newly shipped plants are sensitive. Pot them in new dry soil mixture, and keep them away from direct sun, protect from rain.
*** Please note that these steps are very important for acclimating new plants. We cannot be responsible for loss or damage to the plants if instructions are not followed.
2. Soil & Potting Tips
-
Use well-draining soil: Start with a mix of 3 parts organic matter (coco coir, peat moss, etc.) and 7 parts inorganic matter (perlite, pumice, volcanic rock, clay beads). Adjust ratios based on your plant species and local climate.
-
Choose the right pot size: Avoid over-potting—select a container slightly larger than the root system.

3. Watering
Growing Season:
-
After 7-10 days of planting the new plants, you can start to water them lightly. Moisten the soil but do not drench.
-
After that, you can start water more, but make sure to do so only when soil is completely dry (typically 7 days, but it is highly dependent on humidity/temperature).
-
New growth tips signal success! Look for plump leaves, or new spines in a couple of days. (Fast growing plants 3-7 days; 1–2 months for slow growing plants).
-
Gradually introduce sunlight over a course of 7-14 days.
Resting Season (temperature below 45F):
-
No watering entirely.
4. Ideal Light Conditions
-
Succulents: Thrive in 50% filtered sunlight (e.g., morning sun + midday/afternoon shade).
-
Cacti: Prefer 30% filtered sunlight (morning/afternoon sun + midday shade).
-
Exception: Cacti with dense, long spines often need full direct sun after acclimation.
Pro Tip: Always monitor your plants and adjust care based on their response. When in doubt, under-watering is safer than overwatering!
